Offering you an option to get your projects done!

It is our goal to enhance each quilt top in such way that your finished quilt reflects your preferences and workmanship.

Quilt Preparation & Basics

Do not baste or pin your quilt layers together.

Square up all sides of your quilt and backing and remove all tucks. Wrinkles and fullness pieced into your quilt will not “quilt-out”. We will try to avoid tucking fullness or a wrinkle into the quilt as much as the piecing will allow.

Make your backing and batting at least 10” inches longer and 6” wider than the quilt top.

If it matters to you which end of the top matches up with the end on the back, please mark these ends with a safety pin. If you have a preference which way you want your seams to run on the back, please specify.

Thread colors are selected to coordinate with the quilt top as much as possible. If you have a different preference in thread color and/or fiber content, please specify.

Quilt date reservations are recommended. If you need your quilt sooner than earliest available reservation date you will be charged a $35 rush fee.

If quilt top is not delivered to us by the reservation date, the next customer will be taken and your name will be placed at the end of the list.  Please call us if this will cause a problem for you.

Minimum charge of $30 for quilting.
Payment is due when your quilt is picked up.

Quilting Options

Machine quilting is priced by the square inch with the rate per square inch based on the quilting design chosen.

Basic Meander ($0.015 a square inch)- is freehand stitching that looks like puzzle pieces – usually ½” to 2” apart.

Pattern Meander ($0.0175 a square inch)- is side to side pattern, but compliments a theme in the quilt piecing or fabric ( i.e., stars, hearts, flowers, loops).

Custom Statler Pantograph ($0.025 a square inch)- is side to side pattern, using the many quilting designs by the computer operated machine.

Custom/Heirloom ($0.03 a square inch)- stitching consisting of a quilting design or motif in each block and/or borders.

Pricing Estimate

Quilting prices are based upon the quilting style and the square inches of the quilt. A quilt’s square inch is determined by multiplying its length (in inches) by its width.

Length x width = sq. inch of quilt

This answer can then be multiplied by the quilting style cost per square inch for an approximate price. We will assist you in filling out a cost estimate sheet when you deliver your quilt to us.

Sq. inches x ($ amt. depending on quilting style) + thread charge and any other additional costs.

Example:

Quilt Size 64” x 78” quilted using Basic Mander and solid thread.

Length x width = sq. inch of quilt
(64 x 78 =  4992 sq. inches)

Sq. inches x ($ amt. depending on quilting style) + thread charge and any other additional costs.

4992 x $0.015 sq. inch + $10 (thread charge) = $84.88
